A Match Made in Dissection Lab
Our story began with a classic 'nu-uh' dynamic: a Masters student, a PhD scholar, two different states, and different languages and cultures. Naturally, fate decided the ideal place for us to meet was over a preserved human body in the anatomy lab. To say the groom made a catastrophic first impression on the bride during those cadaver classes is a massive understatement. But the groom, being entirely himself, made it impossible to stay annoyed for long.
While he fast-tracked his way into her good books, the friendship officially upgraded to "buddy-buddy" status the moment we discovered a mutual obsession and passion for sunny-side-up eggs. With our alliance officially fried and sealed, we juggled intense academic work, student leadership meets, and cultural shows like absolute pros.
Just as we thought we had our routine down, the 2020 Covid boom hit, turning everything upside down. We were trapped in a chaotic whirlwind of cultural adjustments, translation gaps, research deadlines, final exams, and pandemic chaos.
But as the clouds finally cleared, we looked back at the madness we had survived and realized we wanted to keep choosing each other against all odds. We're finally graduating from lab partners to life partners!
